It's happening this Friday, 19th September in Częstochowa. Emil Sajfutdinow will have a chance to win the first Individual European Champion title. It won’t be an easy task because Peter Kildemand, who is chasing him, loses only three points and additionally Dane is on his home track. The rider from Russia is relaxed before the final tournament.
It’s already on Friday, 19th September in Częstochowa the Great Final of Speedway European Championships. The organizers have prepared surprise for all fans. The ticket prices on the day of the event won’t be higher and it will be possible to buy them for the free places.
Emil Sajfutdinow is a step from the victory in Individual European Championship. On the 19th of September at SGP Arena in Częstochowa Russian will try to defend his three point advantage which he has over the second in general classification, Peter Kildemand. The rider from Bashkortostan has to remember all the time the other riders who are close to him.
On Sunday in Leszno and Zielona Góra there were first semi – finals of Polish ENEA Ekstraliga. In both matches better were hosts but score of two matches in both cases is still open. It is worth to mention that the team from Tarnów lost the second match in the season.
Andreas Jonsson won Nordic Speedway Grand Prix in Vojens who haven’t won a single tournament for 5 years. Peter Kildemand, who was racing with the wild card, took the second place and Krzysztof Kasprzak stood on the lowest step of the podium. There was unlucky ending for Kenneth Bjerre who had a crash in the semi and had his shoulder dislocated. However it was diagnosed an hour after the crash which has caused more serious problems. Jonsson and Kildemand will ride on 19th September in Częstochowa during the Great Final of SEC!
On the 19th September in Częstochowa we will know Individual European Champion 2014. The favorite to gold medal seems Emil Sajfutdinow who the next day will start at the National Stadium in Warsaw during Verva Street Racing.
Individual European Championship was organized for the first time by European Motorcycle Union in 2001. At first British federation didn’t take part in the rivalry. In the first year there were also no Scandinavians. Championship consisted of the final tournament which was preceded by the system of national and international qualifications. In the years 2001 – 2012 world class riders, who started in Grand Prix, didn’t take part in it. In 2013 the event got the prestige on which it deserves.
There was no surprise in the final of Danish league which ended with the victory of Holsted Speedway Klub. The key for the win for hosts was the strong team. Silver medals were won by Esbjerg Motorsport and bronze by Munkebo.
Peter Kildemand is at the moment the most dangerous rival for Emil Sajfutdinow as far as the gold medal of Individual European Championship is concerned. Dane has really good season and he loses only three points to the Russian. What is more, he is a representative of the local club, Włókniarz and he knows the track very well.
On Tuesday evening there were first matches of semi – finals in Swedish Elitserien. In Motala, Swedish champions, Piraterna won in the very last heat over Indianerna Kumla. In the home team there weren’t Darcy Ward and Greg Hancock and among visitors Niels Kristian Iversen. In the second match Rospiggarna Hallstavik won with Elit Vetlanda 47:43 athough there was a moment when they had 14 points of advantage.
Peter Kildemand had a great entrance in Polish ekstraliga while he was winning with world class riders on each track. He also qualified to European Championship and he is very successful. On the 19th of September he will have a chance to win the medal of Speedway European Championships for the first time in his career.
Six point loss to the leader of Speedway European Championships is much but Nicki Pedersen wouldn’t be himself if he didn’t put everything on one card and didn’t fight for the title which was taken from him by Martin Vaculik at the very last moment.
