Martin Vaculik, who is defending the European Champion title, had quite poor inauguration of this year Speedway European Championships series. In Gustrow, Germany Slovak scored only seven points. What is more, during the match of Swedish league he had a dangerous fall which resulted in a leg injury. However Vaculik calms: “I will definitely ride in Togliatti!”.

 - As far as Gustrow is concerned, I’m not satisfied with my riding at all. The track was so specific that I couldn’t find the right setups for the whole tournament. I was disappointed because I didn’t win even a single heat. A few times I was riding after alignment of the track which also caused that it was different… I have to forget about it and fight in Togliatti. – summarizes the first tournament Vaculik.

However European Champion emphasizes the exceptional atmosphere which was created by local fans. – There was really great atmosphere in Germany! A lot of people, great support, fun during the whole tournament. It was really a pleasure to take part in it.

Two days later Martin had a dangerous fall. It happened during the match of Elitserien when Vaculik’s team, Vargarna Norrkoeping met with Rosspigarnę Hallstavik.

- At the beginning of one of the bends I had problems and unfortunately I lost control over my bike. It ended with a hit in a fence. Diagnosis said that there was a problem with one of the leg muscles but now everything is okay and I’m coming back to full strength. I don’t have any rehabilitation but I’m starting to train as usual so I have positive attitude. – says Martin Vaculik.

Slovak confirms that he is ready to start in Russia. – I would like to calm my fans. I will definitely start in the second round of Speedway European Championships in Togliatti.

Second round of Speedway European Championships in Togliatti is already on Sunday at 6 p. m. (CET).
