Christian Hefenbrock will start with the wild card during the inaugural tournament of Speedway European Championships in Gustrow. “Hefe” found out about it on Friday, the 13th, but he claims it was his lucky day. What does he think about SEC?

Christan, you got wild card for the tournament in Gustrow. How do you feel because of that?
- I'm absolutely delighted having received the wild card for Güstrow, as it my hometrack and favourite track. There are my fans and friends. This place means a lot to me. Getting the chance to be a part of the SEC tournament is a great honour.

When did you find out that you will take part in the inauguration of SEC?
- I found out last friday ( friday the 13th) morning when i received an email from the federation. I thought: what a lucky day!

At this moment the best German rider is Martin Smolinski. How do you think on what position you are now?
- Martin is the best at the moment no doubt about that, I fully grant it to him. There are quite a few good riders in Germany for example Tobi Kroner, Tobi Busch and Kai Huckenbeck... I would count myself to that handfull of riders at the moment.

What can you say about the track in Guestrow?
- The Güstrow track is by far the best prepaired track in Germany and i really really enjoy riding there. The track guarantees thrilling racing with much passing and many different lines to be ridden. The stadium gives an unique and marvelous atmosphere.

Please remind fans where do you ride now?
- I ride the geman Bundesliga for AC Landshut and for Kolejarz Opole in the 2nd polish league and also for Güstrow all individual meetings.

Are you following the results of your former Polish clubs? You were a rider in Częstochowa, Grudziądz and Bydgoszcz...
- Of course i keep following the clubs i have ridden for and their situations. I have absolute great memories to Czestochowa and also good memories to Grudziadz and Bygdoszcz also to Daugavpils. There were great managers and bosses at the time i was there. Best was to work with Mr. Maslanka as well as Zenon Plech, non the less Mr. Ribnikovs.

European Championships appeared in a new form last year. Do you think that this was good idea?
- Its absoulute amazing what guys from OneSports have accomplished. A huge compliment, they have done great things for the sport and brought it a lot more forward.

Who do you think is the main candidate to win this year SEC?
- I think fore sure favourites are Tomasz Gollob and Emil Sayfutdinov.

Who can be the biggest surprise in SEC?
I do think that Peter Kildemann will be a good surprise.

Who will win in Guestrow?
- I think Greg "the wild thing" Laguta will will Güstrow or Emil Sayfutdinov.

Thank You.
- Thank You. I'd like to greet all fans in Poland (and in across Europe).
