One of the best riders of the world this season is Emil Sajfutdinov. The russian won two of three Grand Prix tournaments, and he's the leader of his polish team - Dospel Włókniarz Częstochowa. Can this brave rider hold his form and reach for the most important trophies in this year?
Emil admited that Eurosport Speedway Best Pairs is one of the most important events for him in 2013. - Sometimes you need to lose few tournaments or races to win in the most important one. Best Pairs tournament, Europe and World Cups are the most important events for me and I wan't to do my best in them. I feel strong and I want to prove it on a track - said the rider.
The russian thinks that Eurosport contribution to this tournament is a great thing to a prestige of this event. - This tournament have a lot of advantages and one of them is live transmition in Eurosport. It will bring a lot to russian speedway, because everyone will be able to watch our team competing with the best pairs of the world. Maybe someone will be interested in this sport and will invest in it in a bigger way than it's now - said.
- Russian speedway isn't developing too much. There is no greater commitment of the federation - said our interlocutor. - We don't have such number of strong riders to win World Cup trophy but I think that in pair formula we can fight for a medal, maybe even gold. Russian clubs don't have this number of money as polish clubs have. It happens that the league is starting and after few rounds they don't have money. You can't even compare it to Poland - said the russian rider.
Despite the hard period for speedway rider in Russia, Emil is not losing hope for a better days for russian speedway. The potential there is very big. - I hope that someone important will see this sport - Putin or Miedwiediew - and finds that it is worth more interest and will take care of its development (laugh). It's hard to get city support for the clubs and there are a lot of rich people there. Gazprom will make a lot of good things investing their money to speedway. We had three leagues in the past and I hope that the better times for russian speedway will come - ended Sajfutdinow.
