Robert Lambert won the bronze medal in TAURON Speedway Euro Championship 2018. In last round in Chorzów, Briton was 8th.

Lambert started his performance on Śląski Stadium very well. 5 points in 2 heats were a good preview before second part of competition, wherein Briton had a chance to fight with Jarosław Hampel for silver medal. Unfortunately, in next three heats, Lambert wasn’t as fast as earlier. Finally, he scored 8 points and didn’t promote to race-off. Furthermore, in Chorzów, his biggest rivals in fight for any medal, Antonio Lindbaeck and Mikkel Michelsen, were in better form. Especially Dane had a good day. He scored 12 points in basic part of the competition, what in final GC placed him only 1 point behind Lambert. Unfortunately Michelsen lost the race-off. Furthermore, Antonio Lindbaeck promoted to final then. Had he beat Leon Madsen, he would have ended with the same score as Lambert. Finally, bronze went to „Ruthless”.

- I looked at the scoreboard. For sure, my goal for this season was place in top 5 and promotion to SEC 2019. I did it and I’m proud, but I had a chance to take a silver. In Chorzów I made some bad moves in last race, but for sure I’m not disappointed. The medal wasn’t my main goal. I did that what I planned before cycle started – said Robert Lambert.

For Briton, that was debut in Speedway Euro Championship. After it, Lambert can be proud, because he won round in Gustrow and finished third in Daugavpils.

- That was difficult cycle. I didn’t do my best in Gniezno. I knew, that I should do better in next rounds. In Gustrow, my second home, I won and that was amazing. I fought and I achieved my goal – finished Lambert.
