Milik: It was a good day

Milik finished his tenth season in the TAURON SEC with the Friday event. In the 42 rounds so far, the Czech rider has scored 263 points.

Vaclav, the competition in Pardubice behind you ended with an eighth place finish. How do you evaluate your performance?

- I felt very good, but I was a bit short of the very top. Still, I am satisfied with myself. The weather was great, the fans as well – it was a good day.

Is this year’s TAURON SEC podium a surprise for you?

- Probably not. From the very first round in Bydgoszcz, it was clear that the medals would be contested by Patryk Dudek, who was in phenomenal form, the defending champion Lebedevs, and someone from the trio Madsen, Jepsen Jensen, and Woryna. In the end, 'Duzers' didn’t let go of the gold, becoming the first Polish Individual European Champion in the Speedway Euro Championship era, which I warmly congratulate him on!

We are on the 'final stretch' of the season, so I’ll ask about your plans for next year’s competitions.

- We’ll see (laughs). If my health allows, I want to train hard during the winter; to strengthen myself physically. Next season, I plan to "take up the challenge" and fight for the best possible results.
