Patryk Dudek won the first round of this year's TAURON Speedway Euro Championship series in Bydgoszcz. The second place went to the defending champion, Andžejs Ļebedevs. Kacper Woryna finished in third place.
The first series of races started with a win for Przemysław Pawlicki. After a very good start, he was better than Rasmus Jensen, Timo Lahti, and Vaclav Milik.
In the second race, Mateusz Cierniak fell, but he was able to race again in the restart. In the re-run, Frederik Jakobsen scored three points, finishing ahead of Cierniak, Woźniak, and Madsen. The next two heats were won by Dimitri Bergé and Kacper Woryna.
In heat number five, there was another crash, this time on the first turn. Przemysław Pawlicki's bike lifted, and he rode straight into Szymon Woźniak's wheel. The crash looked very serious. Woźniak got up almost immediately, but Pawlicki, who fell on his right side, stayed on the track for a long time. In the re-run, Michael Jepsen Jensen won, ahead of Woryna and the sore Szymon Woźniak.
Heat five began with a dangerous-looking crash on the first turn involving Przemysław Pawlicki and the wildcard rider for the 50th SEC round, Szymon Woźniak. Pole raced in the re-run and scored one point. Ahead of him were Rasmus Jensen and Kacper Woryna, who was riding very well on the Bydgoszcz track.
Andžejs Ļebedevs also deserved praise. In the sixth race, he beat other SEC medalists: Leon Madsen, Patryk Dudek, and Václav Milík. Woźniak got better with each race and won the 10th heat. Behind him was Dimitri Bergé, who was consistently scoring points.
From the beginning of the third series of heats, Patryk Dudek started riding perfectly. The Polish rider won the 11th, 13th, and 20th heats, which meant he went directly to the final. The 16th race is also worth mentioning, as it had some amazing racing. Throughout the whole race, Michael Jepsen Jensen and Leon Madsen fought hard for three points. Just before the finish line, Jepsen Jensen moved into first place by riding wide on the turn. Unfortunately, in the 18th heat, the fans in Bydgoszcz saw another very dangerous-looking crash, this time involving Frederik Jakobsen, who could not continue in the competition. Kacper Woryna qualified directly for the final.
In the Last Chance Heat, Szymon Woźniak and Andžejs Ļebedevs performed the best. The Grand Final was run in two parts. In the first attempt, Woźniak fell on the track, so he was excluded from the re-run. The repeated final ended with a victory for Patryk Dudek, who controlled the race from the start. Andžejs Ļebedevs and Kacper Woryna finished were after him.
