- It’s unbelievable feeling. Last time I was riding here fifteen years ago. When you ride in front of full stadium, you have new energy and you want to win at once. I’m very happy and I’m going to Togliatti for another points. – said just after receiving the cup Nicki Pedersen.
The tournament wasn’t successful for Martin Vaculik, who was defending the title. Slovak didn’t win any heat and he was only tenth with seven points scored. Adrian Miedziński was also close to the final but because of the crash in his last heat he didn’t have this chance – Tomasz Gollob qualified instead of him.
- It’s a pity that I didn’t qualify to the final because it was really close. I felt really well from the very beginning. In my last heat Emil Sajfutdinow and Janusz Kołodziej rode quite wide and simply I didn’t have space. Fortunately everything is all right and I will definitely fight in Togliatti.
After the first round we had two leaders – Nicki Pedersen and Janusz Kołodziej scored 14 points. Togliatti was already waiting on the horizon…
