Rune Holta was born in Norway but he has received Polish citizenship. He is fourfold champion of Norway and won Polish championship twice. In Polish league he signed a contract with Morawski Zeilona Góra in 1993 but he had the first start in 1994 in GKM Grudziądz. In international events he was a representative of Norway. However in 2005, 2007 and 2010 he represented Poland in Speedway World Cup and he won gold medal three times.
In 2003 he won Tem Polish Championship with Włókniarz Częstochowa and in 2004 and 2005 – bronze medals. On the 1st June 2014 he broke the barrier of 2000 points in Polish highest league (together with bonus points but without points scored as a so called “Joker”). Holta also won Gran Prix round twice. His best season was 2010 when he was just after the podium in general classification.
