Smoli is currently the best German rider. Until now he has successfully combined starts on long and a classical track. As the first rider in the history of speedway he has taken part in two series Grand Prix (classical and long track).
30 - year-old rider started his starts in Polish league in 2006. Smolinski was a representative of RKM Rybnik then. After two seasons he moved from Silesia to Kujawy, more specifically to Grudziądz. After a year he moved to Toruń. One point scored in four starts was certainly not the biggest dream of the German rider. This season he resigned from the strongest leagues in the world to be able to prepare for participation in Grand Prix and Speedway Best Pairs Cup, in which together with colleagues from the national team he took the sixth place.
Smolinski was a sensational winner of the inaugural round of Grand Prix in Auckland although a week earlier at MotoArena during Speedway Best Pairs Cup he also showed great speed. Smolinski has received a permanent wild card for this year's Speedway European Championships seires and he will certainly try to make a surprise, especially since last season he finished just at sixteenth place with just thirteen points.
