A rider from Zielona Góra is one of the most experienced speedway riders riding in Polish league. He is four times world champion in the team and twelve times Polish champion (individually in 1999). In 1996, he was Individual World Champion U21.
Before he became a speedway rider, he tried his hand at other disciplines: he took off in the final of Youth Spartakiada in Szczyrk in alpine skiing and go-kart racing (vice - champion title in the category of youngsters). He passed his speedway license on May 7th, 1991 as a rider of Morawski ST Zielona Góra.
The comeback to Polish national team was Piotr Protasiewicz’s largest individual success in the season 2014. Thanks to hard work and ambitious attitude, Marek Cieślak decided to call - up PePe for Speedway World Cup final. In it, Piotr ran out of a few centimeters, to become a hero to the entire Poland. In the penultimate heat he had a chance to seal the success of the team and provide gold medals. After the start in his style he fueled under the fence, in order to come into the lead. Unfortunately, there was no space. Piotr fell and was excluded from the re - run. Poles won silver medals, and as the consolation remained the fact that fans pointed Protas as the best in the team.
In the final of qualifications for Speedway European Championships series he finished in fourth place with 11 points.
