None of Poles have reached the Speedway Euro Championship medal so far. They've been performing well, having some sparks, however it was never enough to reach the TOP 3. Will it be different now?
In the previous editions of European Championship, Poland was represented by the most titled riders. However, neither Tomasz Gollob, nor Piotr Protasiewicz, Janusz Kołodziej or the youngsters - Przemysław Pawlicki, Maciej Janowski were not able to get the medal. So far, the best result was reached by Janusz Kołodziej. Triple Individual Polish Champion was 5th twice (2014 and 2015). It was a position securing the spot for the next season in SEC, however it did not give any medal.
That definitely made "Koldi" want to fight for more. He's an experienced rider, familiar with SEC, with some high skills and a rich experience, gathered for years at the tracks across Europe. From the very beginning, he's been performing well, leading the "train" of his club in the best speedway league in the world. Recently, he got the 2nd place in Speedway Best Pairs (along with his team eport200.pl Team) and was finishing every round at the podium.
Therefore, Pole can be the one, who will cross the favourite's plans and will try to get the first, historic medal for Poland in Speedway Euro Championship. Next to the rider from Tarnów, there will be some big hopes and expectations when it comes to Krzysztof Kasprzak. World's vice-champion from 2 years back, has been proving that his last year's issues are behind him. Rider representing Stal Gorzów has been showing a great disposition and is one of the leaders of his team. Plus, it seems like he got the faith in his skills back and would like to follow his biggest successes. Kasprzak had already a chance to compete in SEC, when he won in Gorican (2013) while riding with a wild card. He would like to repeat this success and find himself not only at the top of the round, but mainly of the whole cycle. By watching this year's performances, one can say, he's got big chances to do so.
The last of the permanent Polish riders of SEC 2016 - Przemysław Pawlicki is a representative of incredibly talented generation of young Polish riders. After last year's problems and leaving FOGO Unia Leszno, he's been rebuilding his form while starting together with Kasprzak under the flag of the Gorzów team. He's been making a significant progress with every next meeting and becoming a very important part of the Polish Champs 2014. Will it be enough to be included in fighting for top spots? Good start in the inaugural round can open the chances for a good score.
The white and red have surely got some chances to be involved in fight with European's top and do their best to get the first SEC medal in the history of this country. The key to success in European Championship will be a stable and good racing in every of four rounds. You cannot let yourself go down, because the loss can be unable to catch up. All of these three riders are experienced ones, they know these venues, where the SEC rounds will be held. Plus, the great final will take place in Poland. Will Janusz Kołodziej, Krzysztof Kasprzak or Przemysław Pawlicki reach the medal of Speedway Euro Championship 2016 in front of their home crowd?
