In the 2014 season, Grigorij Laguta had no many chances to compete in Speedway European Championships. Leg's injury caused that fans could watch Russian rider only during the last round in Czestochowa (which he won!). Direct advance was really close. During the SEC Challenge, Laguta did not impress the fans with his speed and joined SEC in the very last moment. That was kind of a teaser for not so stable season.
2015 was a second full-time participation in SEC. Comparing to 2013, Laguta gained 13 points less!
Most experts thought that Laguta would start his season with a big impact, especially after representing local KS Toruń.
They were far from the truth, though. Grisha gathered only 9 points and despite the fact that it was not that bad performance, he surely counted on more.
Round in Landshut was a complete failure for Russian international. At the long track in Bavaria, Laguta got only five points, which made his situation in the overall classification tough.
Laguta got cheered up a bit after meeting in Kumla, where he advanced to the race-off heat in the very last moment. What's more, after a beautiful fight, he jumped into the final heat, where he got defeated only by his friend, Emil Sayfutdinov.
When everyone thought that a durect advance is just a formal thing, Laguta let everyone's (including his) expectations down. Bronze medalist from 2013, did not win even one heat and ultimately ended the cycle at 6th position - the first pne not giving promotion to the SEC 2016
