After succesful campaign of winning SEC Challenge with maximum points, many saw the dark horse of European Championship in Artem Laguta. However, it was the first round that proved the big distance between challenge and the main series and the fact, that getting points would not be that easy.
It was definitely not a good season for younger of Laguta brothers. Artem wasn't able to qualify for the race-off heat even once (however for three times he was really close).
Surely, the round at Motoarena in Torun was a big disappointment. He had some big hopes, but after a great performance in Challenge, this time, it was not as good. Only one heat won and a poor last heat caused that Russian was missing when it comes to fighting for the top in Torun.
The round in Landshut was not satisfying as well. From the very beginning, Russian couldn't find the right setup for the long track's conditions. That led to 5 points and only 12th place.
Kumla was about to be the last chance to get closer to the cycle's top. Ambitious attitude and fight at the every centimeter of the track were not enough though. Again, not much was wissing to get to the race-off heat.
In Ostrów Wielkopolski, it was the same as in Torun. Again, the last heat decided about the lack of Laguta's presence in the race-off heat (2 pounts down).
Summing up, Artem was racing quite steady and solid, but it surely wasn't the best possible form. Till the very end, he had chances to get the promotion to the next year's series, but these few failed heats caused that he finished SEC 2015 at 7th place. This time, no.7 was far from being lucky...
