Beginning of November is a special time. We're taking our thoughts back to the people that are not with us anymore. In the recent year, the world of speedway has lost some great activists and riders.
This spring, we said goodbye to Istvan Darago, famous Hungarian. He was a referee, member of the FIM Track Comission, FIM vice-president and honourable member of the Hungarian Motor Federation. Great man and a great friend.
Last November, Antonin Svab senior passed away - 82 y.o. two times Czechoslovakia's speedway champion. His biggest successes came while riding on ice - he was a three times medalist of the world championship, reached: gold (1970), silver (1972) and bronze (1966).
On May 29, 2015 in Rostock's clinic, a long track German rider - Enrico Sonnenberg passed away in the age of only 35. Few days earlier, he had a crash during the meeting in Teterow.
Not so long, because only 2 weeks ago, sad information came from Gdańsk - Andrzej Terlecki, speedway referee from Gdynia, translator and an activist passed away in the age of 52.
In this moment, we cannot forget about these, who left us earlier, including Lee Richardsson, Grzegorz Knapp, Matija Duh and all of the 355 people, who died because of the injuries caught at the track.
May You rest in peace.
