After his European Championship's debut in 2014 and standing on the rostrum, many experts thought that the following season would be the one, when Peter Kildemand will cross Emil Sayfutdinov and Nicki Pedersen's plans. It did not happen though. Why?
"I would not be surprised if Peter Kildemand reached the TOP3. "Spider" presents some fantastic racing, however crosses the fair play broder quite often. In this season of Ekstraliga, he raced in 38 heats and in 5 of them he was excluded, but SEC series promotes regularity. Too many mistakes: engine failures, tapes, exclusions - it can all stop you on the road to the top." - said journalist Michał Korościel right before the inaugural round in Toruń.
In fact, this irregularity caused that Dane wasn't able to fight for the SEC rostrum. What's more, he even couldn't advance directly to the next year's series! Ironically, Kildemand didn't finish his heats at the last place even once! Dane was excluded three times, because of falls, that slightly confirms the theory about his overtackling during the heats.
It all started according to the plan, though. In Toruń, Kildemand got 10 points and finished his starts after the race-off heat. What's interesting, by then he got 3 wins. As it turned out later, these were the only heat wins in whole SEC season! Fifth place in Toruń gave a strong hope for a good result at the end of the season, however reality took his plans down.
Landshut round were not as good as the one in Toruń. Only 5 points reached caused that his chances for the rostrum went far away. What's worse, Kildemand was involved in a serious crash (in his first start). While being strongly bruised, he wasn't able to fight for anything more on that night.
Another fall that happened during the starts in one of the foreign leagues caused that Kildemand could not ride in Kumla. Therefore, his chances for promotion to the next year's series were close to zero. The only hope was a perfect start in Ostrów Wielkopolski...
Despite his ambitious attitude, "Spider" got only 7 points that led him only to closing the TOP10 of general SEC classification. 22 points is surely not a result that can satisfy Dane. Will the silver medalist of SEC 2014 be able to fight for the TOP3 again in 2016?
