As we've mentioned before, Paweł Przedpełski was the most effective wild card holder of this year's Speedway European Championships. Youngster from Toruń reached 2nd place during the inaugural round at Motoarena. Only Nicki Pedersen placed in front of him.
Right now, Przedpełski is the second best wild card holder in SEC history. In 2013, Krzysztof Kasprzak won the round in Gorican and stood at the top place of the rostrum. Kasprzak however is a fully shaped and experienced rider, former world's vice-champion. And ahead of Przedpełski, there's still whole career and such a performance surely built him up.
- I'm so so happy. In fact, I've got no idea how I did it. Along with my mechanics, we've done a great job. Fighting in such competition with so many great riders is a real success. From the very beginning I've had faith in good result and succeded. I finished at the 2nd place, but it tastes like 1st. In the final heat I got glued to the inside line and had to struggle hard to get control over my bike, but luckily I got it well and reached the fantastic, second place - said Paweł Przedpełski after the meeting.
Junior from Toruń also had a chance for the medal in Individual Speedway Junior World Championship, but in the last round in Pardubice finished only 9th and ultimately found himself right beyond the rostrum. Toruń's youngster will be fighting for gold in the next year and this series, as you know, will be under the auspices of One Sport.
