In the historic tradition Kumla appears as a city of shoemakers, and the first mention of this place is from the first half of the nineteenth century. Formerly it was said that in Kumla is more shoemakers than inhabitants.
The best known, however, in Kumla is local speedway club - Indianerna. It was founded in 1936, and it has its matches currently at Ica Maxi Arena. In the entire history Indianerna Kumla has won fifteen medals in Team Swedish Championship (2 gold, 5 silver and 8 bronze). Since 2000, Piotr Protasiewicz has been a rider of the local team.
So much history, because tomorrow at the stadium of "Indians" will be held the third round of Speedway European Championships. After two tournaments, the head of the classification is Emil Sayfutdinov, who has two points of advantage over Nicki Pedersen.
- It will definitely be hard because every rider rides in order to score a lot of points. Last year I was able to achieve a safe advantage, I hope that this will be the same. We'll see, maybe after Kumla I will be calm and I will start in the competition in Ostrow relaxed. – says current European champion, Emil Sayfutdinov.
Dane realizes that the two points is a small loss, so he will want even before the last competition make up it, and perhaps maybe even take the lead.
- There is no doubt that I'm on the right track to fight for medals. I only have to keep maximum concentration, focus on my ride and then we'll see what the points scored will give at the end of the season.
In the battle for the gold medal is still Antonio Lindbaeck, who represents Indianerna in the Swedish league. Fans certainly will witness not only an exciting fight for the medals, but also a tough racing for another points that will make it possible to stay in the series for the next season. Between the fifth Martin Vaculik and fourteenth Hans Andersen is just five points difference.
- Most riders love Kumla, I guess it’s one of the best tracks in the world. – added third in the series, Antonio Lindbaeck.
