The event in Kumla will be special for Antonio Lindbaeck who starts in the local team Indianerna. However that’s not everything, “Toninho” has a big chance to win a medal of Individual European Championship and great start at his home stadium ICA Maxi Arena can help him to achieve it.
Before the beginning of Speedway European Championships series Antonio Lindabeck received permanent wild card from One Sport, the organizer of championship. Some haven’t believed in Swedish rider and they doubt if putting Lindbaeck in SEC series was right decision. However it has appeared that it was hit the jackpot. It was already during the first tournament when Antonio qualified straight to the final. Although he didn’t manage to stand at the podium, the points which he scored made it possible to look in the future with optimism.
The second tournament in German Landshut didn’t start well for the rider from Rio de Janeiro. After two heats he had only one point on his account and breaks between heats, nervousness was clearly seen on his face. However proper corrections in his equipment had a good effect and another heats showed that Antonio Lindbaeck belongs to European (or maybe world) top this season and he qualified to the final although this time after the race – off.
At this moment “Toninho’s” place seems quite safe. Five point advantage over fourth Tomasz Gollob and six point loss to Nicki Pedersen. However Swede can feel too comfortable because many points have to be still scored. Another can be won on the 15th of August in Kumla.
