Martin, the first tournament in Torun for you was completely unsuccessful. What was the reason for this?
- Oh yes it was very unsuccessful. I couldn’t get my Jawa engines running the way how we need it for the Torun track.

You must admit that after such a start, it will be hard for you even to fight to stay in the series?
- Never say never. Everything is possible.

Just after the first round of SEC you made a special statement concerning the engines. Can you say something more on this subject for fans who didn’t have an opportunity to see it?

- In Speedway we have since over 5 years or maybe 10 years only one engine manufacture from Italy. Since 2 Years Jawa, an old Speedway company got new owners and together with my engine Tuner Tornado Racing we sign up beginning of the year a cooperation, developement factory contract. We working very hard to get the Jawa engines on the same level than we the GM engines. The power is very good on Longtracks, but on technical/dynamic tracks like Torun we are behind. We need to work hard on our residue. Its soo hard in Speedway to develop new products/Engines.

The next round of SEC is in Landshut, a very well known track for you. Last year, during Speedway Best Pairs Cup you rode really great…
- And i could use my home experience. I love to race in front of my home crowd.

Can fans in Landshut count on as good racing as it was in Torun?
- Yes they can.

The wild card for the tournament in Germany was given to Michael Haertel. Do you think it's a good choice?
- Yes it was the best choice. He is a young very talented rider and hew was showing his passion last year in Landshut during the Speedway Best Pairs Cup.

Do young people in Germany look more favorably on speedway thanks to such names as Martin Smolinski and Michael Haertel?
- Yes they do. We have a very good junior speedway group in germany and lot of young fans who are delighted to follow us. I personal have a awesome fanclub the Wisselsinga with a lot yound and old fans who are follow me to a lot meetings. You allways here them when they start there oldschool fire fighter siren to make some noice.

During last year tournaments which were held in Germany it could be seen in a crowd hunger of watching the best riders in the world. Has anything changed in the perception of speedway from the organizational side since then?
- Yes there are a lot small changes, special in Landshut. We have a very good Team of Präsidents and Workers in Landshut where I can say a big thanks. They allways try to improve and make the speedway better in Germany. We on a good way. We will have new floodlight in the stadium. 1000Lux Special for Televison to get HD quality.

This season, again you resigned from foreign leagues and you have focused only on SEC, SBP and the German league. Don’t you miss starts?
- No i dont miss starts. Im personal very happy with it and that’s the main thing. I walked always my own way to do speedway and I will walk further on my own way.

You were close to signing a contract with the Unia Tarnow, but at the last minute you gave up on the idea. What was the reason?
-
No i didnt gave up the Idea. I was very interested in signing. But I do not sell my soul. We had some long phone conferences get it organized and sort out the contract. But all what we decided was not in the contract. There are some small things in the contract i cant agree with it, I have a copyright on my #84! I need to give all my rights away when I sign, this is not what I want. Plus there are still some issuses with my old Contract at Krosno. And the way how this should get organized was not in the European legal form.

At the end, what can you promise German fans who will sit in the stands of the stadium in Landshut on July 11th?
- They will see a quick Martin Smolinski in an awesome Devils stadium. Let the show begin!

Thank You very much!
- Thank You
