Hans Andersen after a year break came back to Speedway European Championships series. Dane, despite the worse beginning in SEC Challenge, found the right setups in his equipment and easily qualified for the finals of SEC. In additional heat he beat Tomasz Jędrzejak and eventually he finished second.
After a year break you are coming back to SEC. What feeling is it?
- It is good to be once again a participant in this wonderful project. I started in SEC in the first season of its existence and I can surely say that this was one of the best periods in my career. It's a great competition, great organized so I'm extremely happy to be back here after a year break. Last season was a disaster for me but now everything is back on the right track.
The beginning of the event wasn’t very successful for you but you were better and better in another heats and finally you took great second place.
- Exactly, in the first two heats I went in the wrong direction with the setups and it did not look good. Fortunately, after making a few improvements I found the speed and got a very good result. I am extremely happy that I have succeeded.
Can it be said that old, good and mainly fast Hans Andersen is coming back?
- I would like to make it so. I do not want show you tomorrow, but for now everything is going my way. I’ve changed the club in Poland, I began to start regularly and this resulted in my good results. Unfortunately I got quite painful injury but it proved not so dangerous that would prevent me from starts.
You’ve mentioned the injury. How do you feel riding with a bandage on your finger?
- It is certainly uncomfortable because the finger is not 100 percent efficient. Like I said, luckily the injury was not very serious and I am able to race effectively what I showed during SEC Challenge in Toruń.
In less than two weeks there is the first round of SEC at MotoArena. Do you have a specific goal?
- I do not want to talk about specific places at this point. I would like to score as many points as possible, which in the end enable me to take as good place as possible.
