Once again, you will have the opportunity to race in Speedway European Championships. Is the saying "third time lucky", will be reflected in your case and you will be champion of Europe?
- Yes, indeed, the start in SEC is very important for me and I will do everything to win this most wanted title. I wish that every race was very exciting to all fans who will come to the stadium. Certainly I have a better chance than in previous years, I'm thinking mostly about the changes concerning silencers that allow you to ride in contact. For sure I am in a better position before the upcoming series.
The series will be inaugurated at the well-known for you stadium in Torun. Is that true that you could ride there with your eyes closed?
- Yeah, I do really favor it and it is definitely one of my favorites. For two years I rode in the club from Torun, and I have only positive memories from there. Riding on this track gives me great joy. I firmly believe that this will be my big day and together with my colleagues we will create an amazing show.
Two further rounds will be held in Landshut and Kumla. While in Sweden you had a chance to start, it is impossible not to ask about Germany. What do you know about the local track?
- I can’t say too much on the subject of Landshut, because if I started there at all, it was a very long time ago. These could be only individual starts. I know that the track is located in the area of Bavaria. From what I remember, it was probably a time or two that I started there and the result was ... normal. I hope that this year will be different and this track will favor me.
SEC will be finished in Ostrów Wielkopolski. Do you think it's a good place for this type of event?
- Definitely yes! In Ostrów there is a very good track, there is great Polish audience, who always reacts very vigorously. I am convinced that the stadium will be full and we can promise that we will create a good show and ride in the way that fans will be satisfied.
All fans were watching your last match in Grudziądz with flushed cheeks. Are these just silencers that you're in such great form?
- For sure silencers give more opportunities. We saw that even in meetings in which I started. Certainly riders have more opportunities to ride smooth in bends and overtake. That's what it is about in speedway, to race, overtake, ride in contact for four laps. That's what fans like the most. It is very exciting. Of course, it must also be safe. At this point, it seems to me that speedway is coming back to the point where it was a few years ago and immediately we see the results. I think this is a turning point for the sport and everything goes in the right direction.
