Maksims Bogdanows wasn’t supposed to start in this year’s SEC series. He wasn’t lucky during the final of Challenge in Debrecen and he didn’t manage to qualify to European championship. What is more, wild card was given to Andrzejs Lebedevs, who was more successful in Hungary. However Bogdanows got the chance from fortune and he used it.
The rider from Latvia was the first reserve of the series. When it seemed that his racing in SEC 2014 would be episodic, Russian Grigorij Laguta got injured. Bogdnaows replaced him and he was racing during three rounds. He showed up again in Częstochowa because Patryk Dudek was suspended and couldn’t ride.
Latvian was really successful as a reserve and he was really close to providing the place in the series for the next season. He missed only for points. The rider who is a representative of Lokomotive Daugavpils raced really equal which resulted in a good scored at the end of the season. The best scored he had in Holsted where he qualified to the great final. However there he made a mistake, fell and was excluded.
In Gustrow, Togliatti and Częstochowa he missed really little to qualify to the last chance heat and who knows maybe if he had scored these points, he would have been able to happy with the place in next year series. It would be great achievement because he was only reserve at the beginning. However if Latvian still is in such disposition, he won’t have any problems to qualify to SEC 2015.
