Emil Sayfutdinow has become a new European Champion. Although Russian didn’t win the final tournament but by winning all heats in regular phase he ensured the gold medal of Speedway European Championships.
For the whole tournament the rider from Russia was really concentrated. He was winning particular heats but replies of Peter Kildemand were the same. Finally in one of the heats Kildemand lost points because of Grigorij Laguta who was supporting his countryman for the whole tournament. In the 18th heat the riders, who were fighting for the title, stood in front of the tape. Emil Sayfutdinow had the best start but just behind him Peter Kildemand was riding faster and faster. However Dane at one moment overacted and hooked the fence with his rear wheel.
Kildemand stood up very quickly but the referee had to stop the race. Everything became clear! Emil Sayfutdinow ensured European Champion title and dethroned Martin Vaculik. Peter Kildemand was furious when he got back to the park machine and Sayfutdinow with his whole team were celebrating on a track the fact that he won the first in his career gold medal of SEC.
Unfortunately Emil didn’t manage to win the tournament in Częstochowa. Although he scored fifteen points in regular phase, the rider had a dangerous crash in the final and was excluded from the rerun. Fortunately nothing wrong happened apart from chafe forearm and a few bruises. The joy of gold was so big that surely it reduced pain which was present after the crash.
The next day Sayfutdinow was already in Warsaw where he had a debut at National Stadium with Jarosław Hampel, Adrian Miedziński and others during Verva Street Racing. The conditions were quite hard but, as we were ensured by Emil, it was really great fun as well as the atmosphere at the stadium.
