After 20 years the competition of the best pairs of the world is back. This time duets from seven countries will compete in Eurosport Speedway Best Pairs tournament which will take place on 8th June on Motoarena in Toruń. The event will start at 7pm.
The organizers were preparing for many months to this show and they hope that reactivation of pair riding will present good and the stadium in Toruń will be full of supporters. - Biggest stars, fantastic stadium and live speedway transmission debut on Eurosport. It will be feast of speedway in Toruń - say the organizers from One Sport company.
In the event the very important fact is that it will be shown live in 71 countries, thanks to Eurosport transmission. - Speedway competitions never had such medial exposition on international level. It's great promotion for speedway and for Toruń, beautifull city - said Krzysztof Świergiel, managing director of polish Eurosport.
Experts and many supporters have two main favourites for the win. We're talking about polish and russian team. The first of them have the advantages of their own crowd and knowledge of the track, and the second of them are counting that they will be on this tournament on such great form as they show in polish league. - I think that it's time to win. Best Pairs tournament, European Championships and World Cup are the most important competition for me in this season and I want to ride there the best way I can. I feel strong and I want to prove it on the track - says Emil Sajfutdinow, who's partners will be Grigorij and Artiom Łaguta. Polish riders are answering to this declarations and confidence of the russian. - We're like Poles going to war - we can unite. It's the art of pair and team riding. We're helping each other and always cooperating - adds Tomasz Gollob, who's partners will be Jarosław Hampel and reserve Adrian Miedziński.
Danes, Swedes and Australians are very high rated too. In the case of the last of them the deciding will be the person of Darcy Ward. We'll know will the rider show on Toruń's cup on saturday after medical consultations and his health analysis. Chris Holder and Davey Watt want a podium even if Ward won't start. Squad decisions will be made by the manager of "Kangaroos" Travis McGowan. The team of Bosse Wirebrand presents good, but the form of Antonio Lindbaeck is far from his best. Peter Ljung will have a chance to replace "Toninho" if he won't be presenting well. We still don't know how Nicki Pedersen feels. He broke his arm, so the form of the Danes is a real question. Except "Power" in the squad of Anders Secher there are Michael Jepsen Jensen and Hans Andersen.
Americans and Czechs seem to have a little bit weaker pole of destruction. It looks like this on a paper, because in reality both of them can play important roles in saturday's tournament. In American team there will be two times world champion Greg Hancock, and his partner in Toruń will be Ryan Fischer. Czechs will have Ales Dryml, Tomas Suchanek and the guest from Slovenia - Matej Zagar. It's very clever maneuver by our neighbours.
Let's recall that in Best Pairs the scoring will be 4-3-2-0 so the riders must cooperate on the track. - That kind of scoring guarantees fight on a track till last meters. We're not afraid of the words that it will be the most spectacular event of 2013 season. Individual riding won't bring anything - cooperation and controlling the situation on track are the most important things - says the organizers. It's easy to say that there won't be draws in single races.
All the signs on the sky suggest that it will be a trully masterfull feast with a beautifull weather and great teams. It's worth to book the saturday's evening for speedway on the highest level and go to Toruń's Motoarena.
