German AC Landshut is coming to the world of speedway. On Sunday, the 10th of May at 7 PM on OneSolar Arena Landshut second round of Speedway Best Pairs Cup takes place. On Tuesday the representatives of the club and One Marketing met in Landshut and confirmed their cooperation in 2014 season.
Seven national teams will show up in Landshut on the 10th of May to fight for points to general classification in “Speedway Best Pairs Cup”. The tournament will be shown for the whole World in Eurosport – That’s a great honor for the club to organize event of such rank. AC Landshut and the whole town will be present that day in 71 countries. All this thanks to the best riders in the World. First idea concerning the cooperation appeared about three months ago and at first we were quite surprised but generally it is an appreciation of the great job made by our team and members of our club in the last few years” – said vice – president of ACL Gerald Simbeck.
The representatives of One Sport were also impressed by the cooperation with the club which has started: “We are happy because of this cooperation with AC Landshut. The club ensures a preparation for the tournament at the highest level and, what is the most important, is very professional and treated our offer in the right way. The stadium presents really well and the atmosphere and desire for cooperation is perfect. That’s why we can’t wait the first heat”, said Jan Konikiewicz from One Sport.
Karol Lejman explained also the vision of development of speedway in Germany: “We think that the potential of German speedway is asleep. We want to wake it up together with AC Landshut and Eurosport. We are convinced that Speedway Best Pairs will be a great tournament and speedway in Germany will find out its potential this season.
- Our cooperation with ACL is perfect and we have a chance to get reliable and really professional partner for our project both this year and in the future. The biggest stars of speedway, multi medalists and most titled riders will come to Landshut – for example: Tomasz Gollob, Nicki Pedersen, Emil Sayfutdinov and Chris Holder. We believe that the home fans will come to the stadium to see the riders who can’t be seen there every day. It will be really special tournament in which the leader of German team will be Martin Smolinski – added Konikiewicz.
Eurosport Speedway Best Pairs for the first took place in Torun (Poland) last year. It was shown live in 71 countries and was watch by over 5 million people on TVs. This year the series consists of three rounds and the name is also changed for “Speedway Best Pairs Cup”.
The inauguration of this year series takes place on the 28th of March in Torun. On Saturday, the 10th of May at 7 PM the riders shows up in Landshut on OneSolar Arena Landshut/ Ellermuhle and next they move to Swedish Eskilstuna where the final takes place. Seven pairs will fight for the title – they are: Poland, Denmark, Australia, Sweden, Russia, Latvia and Germany.
“The whole habitat can’t wait this special tournament, we have many queries about the tickets. Fans have to wait for the details concerning of the selling until the half of February” – said the president of AC Landshut, Christian Schmid.
