Janusz Kołodziej made a very successful comeback after his injury, winning the second round of the series, which was held in Güstrow. Despite his absence in Częstochowa, the silver medalist of last year's competition - at the halfway point of TAURON SEC 2023 - is in sixth place, losing only two points to third Andzejs Lebedevs.
It was a phenomenal return to the series, it can be proven by the fact that in Güstrow Pole lost only one point - he crossed the finish line in heat 15 behind the Czech representative, Jan Kvech, while in other races Kołodziej left his rivals far behind.
Thanks to the high score - despite participating in only one round of this year's series - he is sixth in the interim classification. Kołodziej is losing only two points to the place that will be awarded the bronze medal of the Individual European Championship, which (theoretically) he can make up in just one race.
The third round of this year's series will be held in Bydgoszcz on September 9. Interestingly, the runner-up from last year did not have the opportunity to start in the TAURON SEC competition, which previously took place on this track. Despite this, 'Koldi' will be a firm favorite to take the top spot. His experience, as well as his current excellent form, make him one of the main candidates to grab the victory. If the Pole rides as well as he did in Güstrow, after the third round he may already be in the top three of the interim classification of the series.
Everything will be verified on the track!
