Lambert: It's down to me

Share on:

Robert Lambert is not only a sensation of TAURON SEC series, but the whole season in general. Brit has been presenting a great disposition right from the beginning of the season, by getting many points for both club teams and in individual meetings. In the Individual Speedway European Championship, Lambert is currently third overall and keeps his chances for the medal.

First round wasn't that good, however. Meeting in Gniezno started for Lambert with touching a tape and ended with only 6 points gathered. It was way better in Güstrow, though. At this technical track, "Ruthless" scored 14 points and won second round of TAURON SEC 2018. Third round was held in Daugavpils. At this totally different track than the one in Germany, Lambert once again, showed his unique skills and jumped on the lowest step of the podium. His fight with Emil Sayfutdinov in the final heat was the best summary of his actions in Latvia.

- This is the first time I have raced in this kind of series. I am really happy with how it's going on at the moment with standing in 3rd place, so my goal is to stay in the TOP 5 - Lambert said.

Ahead of the final round of TAURON SEC 2018, Lambert is third in the overall classification of the series, with a one-point loss to Jarosław Hampel and five to the leader - Leon Madsen. However, British rider makes it clear that he's not about to look up at his rivals and this additional pressure to get a good score is not needed.

- Well I am trying not to think too much of the points going into the last round, because I feel that I don’t need to put pressure on myself as it’s the first time I have been racing in this kind of level and at the moment I am racing and enjoying it. To get the gold is a possible thing to do, but I am staying open about everything - Brit added.

Final round of the European Championship will take place at Śląski Stadium in Chorzów. Final of TAURON SEC 2018 will be special also because of the fact that riders will race at a specially prepared track, which will not be a typical one-day oval. Usually, these kinds of tracks have around 274 meters, while this one is 370-meters long.

- Well it will be very even for everybody, because they will be the first time on this track, so I feel it’s open playing field for the last round. I will prepare the same as I have for the last rounds and try not to change too many things. I feel fast at the moment and I feel that I have good equipment, so now it’s down to me to make it happen - Lambert ended.
