Robert Lambert has already had his debut as a permanent rider in TAURON Speedway Euro Championship during the inaugural round in Gniezno. However, Brit can feel a bit unsatisfied, but still, he's in the game. For this young rider, verification of his position on international level is the most important thing right now.

Lambert replaced Artem Laguta, who, after his promotion to Grand Prix series, decided to withdraw from the rivalry to become the Individual Speedway European Champion. In Gniezno, British rider got six points and ended the meeting at 11th position. His Euro Championship path started from breaking a tape and exclusion. In his next starts, he was truly battle-tested while crossing the finish line at each of possible positions. First, he was second, then third, got "zero" as well and at the end of the day, he finally got the heat win by defeating Piotr Pawlicki, Peter Kildemand and Josef Franc.

- I wasn't satisfied with my first heat, however, later it was way better and in the end, it was all good - Lambert said.

Brit should feel satisfaction, though, with him finishing the meeting above Emil Sayfutdinov or Andzejs Lebedevs - riders who have already reached for gold in Euro Championship. Never though, second position of Antonio Lindbaeck, Kai Huckenbeck's third or sixth by Peter Kildemand, show that Lambert can also join the group of the ones who can make surprise. Lambert noticed that the TOP 3 got double-digit scores, which was crucial. Jarosław Hampel is on the top of that list, after gathering 17 points. At the lower part of the table, there's quite a squeeze. Fourth Mikkel Michelsen and fifteenth Andrey Kudriashov are distanced with only 4 points.

- When I looked at the overall classification, I realized that it was only the TOP 3, who slightly jumped away, but except them, we're all tight - Lambert said.

That shows how serious fight for every single point should be. Second round of TAURON SEC is going to be held on 14th of July in Güstrow. Lambert has already had a chance to compete there. In the last season, he was second in one of the final rounds of Individual Speedway Junior World Championship.

- This track is quite specific, but I can say that I do like it. In the past, I raced there many times, so hopefully I will be able to do my best and it'll all be fine.

Lambert has been seen as the main hope of British speedway from years. Rider has already tasted some success, while reaching for golds in the Individual British Championship both as a senior and junior. He also has bronze in Individual Speedway Junior World Championship and gold in Junior European Championship.

However, he takes his starts in TAURON SEC with calmness and humility. He's far from having some high expectations and focuses on sport progress.

- If it's possible, I try to race in front, always having a fight for the win as my main goal, but taking it realistically, I will be happy If I will end the meeting in Güstrow in the TOP 8. I do realize the fact that this is a totally different level. Soon, I'll get to know my position after the second round and by the end of the season, I'll know my place on a international arena. That will let me orientate of what I'm capable of in the next season - Lambert ended.
