On July 18, a major international speedway event will come to Zielona Góra for the first time since 2008. The fight for the title of Europe’s best rider will begin in the “Wine City.” An important piece of news is that ticket sales for the Individual European Championship have already started.
This will be the first of two Polish rounds of the Speedway Euro Championship (SEC), a series whose winner earns direct qualification to the Grand Prix series. Zielona Góra will host the best speedway riders of the Old Continent for the first time in history. The local team features the current European vice-champion and two-time SEC champion, Andzejs Lebedevs, as well as Leon Madsen. The Dane, like the Latvian, has also won the championship title twice. Last year’s European champion, Patryk Dudek, is also closely connected with Zielona Góra, as this is where he began his career. Interestingly, all three riders finished on the overall SEC podium in the 2025 season.
At this point, six participants in the series are confirmed. In addition to the aforementioned trio, Kacper Woryna, Nazar Parnitskyi, and Michael Jepsen Jensen will also compete for the European Championship title. The remaining participants will be announced on June 13 during the SEC Challenge tournament in Lonigo. The six best riders there will qualify for the final series. In addition, three wildcard entries for the full series will be awarded. The regulations also allow for one single-event wildcard for each tournament.
Tickets for the opening round of this year’s series, which will determine the Individual European Champion, have just gone on sale.
