Tyler Haupt received wild card for 2nd round

16-year-old German talent receives wildcard for the second round of this year’s Speedway European Championship

Tyler Haupt turned 16 on June 29 this year, making him eligible to compete in the Polish National Speedway League for Trans MF Landshut Devils. The German rider has since made three appearances, scoring a total of 16 points plus 2 bonus points, giving him an average of 1.8 points per heat.

Haupt has been showing his high level for several years. In 2023, he won the Golden Boy Trophy in Gdańsk with a maximum score. That same year, he also took part in the Speedway Ekstraliga Camp in Toruń.

As Germany has more liberal regulations than many other federations, Haupt successfully represented MC Güstrow Torros in the Speedway Bundesliga at the age of 15. In May this year, he competed in the famous tournament Internationaler Pfingstpokal held at the venue hosting the second round of the SEC, where he made a positive impression in a strong field. Meanwhile, in his first senior competition, the second round of the German Individual Championship, he finished fifth with 11 points.

The reserves for the German round will be 2025 Speedway of Nations 2 gold medallist Hannah Grunwald and Eric Pudel.

With the exception of the forced break in 2020, this oval has hosted the best speedway riders in Europe continuously since the 2016 season. The first-ever round in Güstrow was held in 2014, after which Landshut replaced the venue in the calendar for one edition. This iconic German track is the clear leader when it comes to the number of SEC rounds held there.

●      Reduced ticket – €30*

* Children aged 13–17, people with disabilities and students are entitled to reduced-price admission. Children under the age of 12 enter free of charge.

A service fee will be added to the transaction.

Information for people with disabilities: The venue is accessible to wheelchair users. Upon presentation of a disability ID card bearing the “B” designation, one accompanying person will be admitted free of charge.
