Met the permanent "wild card" holders for this year's series

Three riders have received the right to participate in this year's Speedway Euro Championship series from the organizer. Two of them are well known to the fans of the Old Continent's championship. The line-up also includes a place for a young, talented debutant.

Adam Ellis returns to the SEC tracks after a three-year break. The greatest speedway achievements of the 30-year-old Briton include two silver medals in the FIM SWC (2016, 2023). In his adventure in the Individual European Championship so far, he has competed in eight rounds of the series, scoring a total of 34 points, and his best performance was the second round of the championship in 2023 in Güstrow, where he finished eighth. Will he improve this result this year? We will find out in the near future.

The second rider to receive a permanent "wild card" is Kai Huckenbeck. The German is one of the most experienced riders in the history of the Speedway Euro Championship. This is best proven by the fact that only Andzejs Lebedevs, Leon Madsen, and Vaclav Milik have competed in more rounds of the championship than him. Huckenbeck has twenty-eight under his belt, finishing in the top three in three of them: Güstrow 2016 (3rd place) and 2025 (2nd place), and Gniezno 2018 (3rd place). The vast experience gained through regular racing in the FIM SGP competitions over the past two years will certainly help him fight for the highest goals in this year's series.

The holder of the last "wild card" is Mathias Pollestad. Thus, the 22-year-old rider has become the first Norwegian in history to be a permanent participant in the Speedway Euro Championship. In Pollestad's speedway 'CV', we can find a bronze medal from last year's FIM SGP2, as well as two medals from the Individual European U19 Championship - one silver (2022) and one bronze (2023). This season, the spectacularly riding Norwegian defends the colors of the league team from Gorzów, currently being the eighteenth most effective rider in the PGE Ekstraliga.

The substitutes for this year's competition will be, respectively: Kim Nilsson, Nicolas Covatti, Mads Hansen, Tom Brennan, and David Bellego.
