Let the fight in this year's series begin!

On July 18 international-level speedway racing will make a grand return to Zielona Góra. The "Wine City" will host a major event for the first time since 2008: the inauguration of this year's Speedway Euro Championship season.

The best speedway riders of the Old Continent will begin their battle for the title of Individual European Champion. This year's competition promises to be one of the most exciting in years, with incredibly high stakes. Patryk Dudek will defend his championship title. The Falubaz homegrown rider has delighted fans for years with his racing on the W69 track.

Leon Madsen and Andžejs Ļebedevs, current representatives of Falubaz Zielona Góra, will also undoubtedly fight for the final triumph. Among the medal candidates, one cannot overlook Kacper Woryna, who won the second final of the Individual Polish Championship in Bydgoszcz in magnificent style just two weeks ago. Nazar Parnitskyi will also have to prove his worth; the current Individual Junior World Champion will surely want to show that his recent weaker performances were merely a temporary hiccup.

Michael Jepsen Jensen is also particularly connected to the Lubusz Voivodeship. He achieved the greatest successes of his career in the colors of Stal Gorzów, and representing Falubaz earned him the immense respect of Zielona Góra's fans—so much so that even when he visited W69 representing other clubs, fans invited him to the supporter's nest.

These six riders secured their spots directly; the rest had to fight through the qualifiers, a group that did not lack recognized names. Mikkel Michelsen is the most decorated rider in the history of the SEC series in terms of championship titles, having been crowned Europe's best rider three times. Brothers Piotr and Przemysław Pawlicki, as well as Maciej Janowski, will also be hungry for success.

The SEC series features many current national champions. A few weeks ago, Leon Madsen (Denmark) and Kim Nilsson (Sweden) claimed their first individual laurels. Notably, Nilsson matched his father, who won the Swedish title in 1983. Other reigning national champions include Andzjes Lebedevs (Latvia), Jan Kvech (Czech Republic), and Patryk Dudek (Poland). For the Poles, the situation is particularly interesting as the SEC lineup also includes Kacper Woryna, the current leader of the Individual Polish Championship series (the final is scheduled for August 15 in Ostrów Wielkopolski).
