The first results of this year's cycle are already in. The next stop in the competition is Güstrow, where riders will have their last chance to earn valuable points before the grand finale of the TAURON Speedway Euro Championship 2024, which will take place on September 21 at the Silesian Stadium in Chorzów.

Without a doubt, the rider who has performed best on today's host track is Janusz Kołodziej. The two-time medalist of the Individual European Championships has competed in five SEC rounds organized in Güstrow, finishing each one in the top four. Moreover, the Pole claimed victory both last year and two years ago. Today, Kołodziej will have the chance to secure his third consecutive win.

Andzejs Lebedevs also has fond memories of Güstrow. It was here that the Latvian rider stood on the third step of the podium during the 2023 TAURON SEC round, returning to the podium after a six-year hiatus. The 2017 Individual European Champion arrives at Plauer Chaussee 4 with an ambitious goal. At the halfway point of the cycle, he leads the interim standings and will do everything he can to extend his lead over his rivals.

Kacper Woryna and Piotr Pawlicki are in similarly strong positions as Lebedevs. Woryna finished both the Debrecen and Grudziądz rounds in the top six, giving him the same number of points as Lebedevs, while Pawlicki is just one point behind them. The Pole also has great memories of the Güstrow track, where he claimed victory in 2021.

In the context of the battle for the top positions, Leon Madsen and Patryk Dudek cannot be overlooked. Both have been in excellent form in recent weeks, making them favorites to win today's event. Mikkel Michelsen is also still in the running for the medals. At the halfway point of the TAURON SEC 2024, the three-time Individual European Champion occupies fourth place.
