Last Saturday, Janusz Kolodziej reached for his first victory in the TAURON Speedway Euro Championship. In Güstrow, the Polish representative scored 15 points and consolidated his position as leader of the interim classification of the series.
After the competition in Rybnik, Kolodziej had as many points as Mikkel Michelsen, and it was they who came to Güstrow as the main candidates for victory. The Pole started the tournament with a win and then made it to the finish line in fourth place. After the 'slip-up', Kolodziej was unbeatable for his rivals, as best evidenced by four consecutive wins, including the most important one - in the final race.
- It feels great. I need some time to understand everything and react right, in terms of the next rounds.
At the halfway point of the competition, Kolodziej is the leader of the interim classification. Before the round in Łódź, he has three points more than Patryk Dudek and four points ahead of defending champion Mikkel Michelsen.
The Polish representative is aware that a lot can still happen and that several riders are still in the fight for the gold medal of the Individual European Championships.
- There are still two rounds to go, so there are a few races to win. Right now everything is great, but we will see what will happen in Łódź and Pardubice.
