Janusz Kolodziej took second place in the inaugural round of the TAURON Speedway Euro Championship 2022. In Rybnik, the Polish representative scored 14 points, which made him one of the leaders of the intermediate classification.

Janusz Kołodziej is in an excellent form this year. It's proven by his results in PGE Ekstraliga and his very successful performance during Saturday's TAURON SEC round. In his return to the series, the Pole advanced directly to the final heat.

- I'm glad that I'm back to TAURON SEC with a great result. It was a tough evening, because the boys were really fast.

In the final heat, Kołodziej faced Leon Madsen, Mikkel Michelsen and Patryk Dudek. In the last race of the day we saw two interesting duels - first Kołodziej was attacking Madsen and then defending against Patryk Dudek. As he points out after the meeting, he was not quite sure how he should behave in this situation.

- In the final, I thought I would do something more, find some speed, but then I just didn't know what to do - attack or defend. I crossed the finish line as second, which make me really happy.

After the competition in Rybnik, there are two riders at the top of the intermediate classification - Mikkel Michelsen and Janusz Kołodziej. Both have 14 points each, just one more than the winner, Leon Madsen. The next opportunity to score points will come on August 6 in Gustrow.
