Mikkel Michelsen finished fourth in Saturday's TAURON SEC round held in Rybnik. The Dane won the first four races, but came to the finish line last in the final. As he points out, this was a result of choosing the wrong setup for this race.
Michelsen is defending the title grabbed last year. The Dane made a great start to Saturday's competition with four wins. He lost only one point in the regular phase of the meeting, finishing behind Leon Madsen in race 18. The 14 points scored let him advance directly to the final heat. In the last race of the day, Michelsen lacked speed and finished fourth.
- I felt a bit slower in the last two races, made some changes for the final, and it was the wrong decision, but you live and learn.
Despite that, the current Individual European Champion can be very satisfied with his performance. His high score puts him on the lead of the interim classification, together with Janusz Kołodziej.
- Obviously, I'm happy because I'm leading the classification, but it was a disappointing end to a great night.
The second round of the TAURON SEC 2022 will take place on August 6 in Gustrow. Tickets are available via www.speedwayeuro.com and www.mcguestrow.de.
