Telewizja Polska obtained the rights to broadcast the Speedway Euro Championships series. Fans of the "black sport" will be able to follow the fight of the best riders on the "Old Continent" for four years.
- The TVP Sport schedule is very diversified and we are present wherever great things happen in Polish sport. Now speedway joins our family. One of the most popular sport disciplines in Poland will finally be available in everyone’s living room. I am very happy about it and I assure you that there will be a lot more good news for sports fans this year - says Marek Szkolnikowski, director of TVP Sport.
Taking over the rights to broadcast Speedway Euro Championship by Polish Television is a change that will make 90% of Poles have access to the competition over the European Individual Championships.
- From our perspective, this is a really big change, because from the very beginning, the SEC series was available on Eurosport. Now it's time for a new chapter and cooperation with public television to which millions of Poles have access. It's a very important step, especially that the contract was signed for four years. I would like to thank the director of TVP Sport – Mr. Marek Szkolnikowski - for substantive and matter-of-fact talks. I am convinced that our cooperation will give the series a new quality and together we will generate the biggest possible viewership - admits Karol Lejman, the president of One Sport - the promoter of the series.
TVP Sport acquired the rights to show SEC in Poland. - We are already working on broadcasting options in other countries. I'm sure that all speedway fans outside Poland will be able to follow the European Championships without any problems - adds Lejman.
Polish Television has been broadcasting speedway competitions for many years. The fans of the "black sport" could follow among others competitions like the Junior World Team Championships, matches of Polish National Team, the “Edward Jancarz Memorial”, the “Crown of King Boleslaw Chrobry” or the “Criterium of Aces”. The best European riders can be watched for free on TVP Sport, the tvpsport.pl website, the mobile application and on SMART TV.
