Sergey Logachev took the third place in the SEC Challenge, which was recently held in Pardubice and due to this success he qualified to the Individual European Championships 2021. The Russian emphasizes that he is determined to fight for the highest goals.
The competition last saturday in Pardubice was successful for Logachev. The Russian scored 11 points in five starts and the additional race for the third place, in which he defeated Andzejs Lebedevs, was mere formality. As it turned out, this was Logachev's first competition in Pardubice.
- I was in Pardubice for the first time. I have never ridden on this track before! When I came to the stadium, I knew only one thing about this track - that it is big. After the practice we didn't have to make many changes, everything worked as it should.
The Russian cannot be considered as a debutant, but he’ve had only one race in the SEC series. The rider started last year in Rybnik, where he was a reserve rider. This year's lineup is packed with titled riders, but Logachev has an ambitious goal - the championship title.
- Of course I set myself the highest goal - to become European champion - but no one can predict what will come out. I am determined to fight and I do not pay attention to big names standing with me at the starting line, whether it is the World or European champion.
Three of the four tracks where the SEC series will take place are the venues of teams from the Polish eWinner 1. Liga, in which Logachev represents ROW Rybnik.
- These are interesting tracks for competition. I've already competed on them this year, so I think it's a big plus for me.
Speedway Euro Championship 2021 is a four-round series of competitions for the title of Individual European Champion. The riders will compete on the tracks in Bydgoszcz (12th June), Güstrow (26th June), Gdańsk (3rd July) and Rybnik (10th July).
