Christian, now it is time for preparations for the new season. How does it look like in your case? Do you have some new things in your preparations?
- I follow a strict fitness plan and I’m training 2-3 hours in the gym. I am also running or cycling every day accept Sundays. Additionally I’ve bought a new motocross bike to keep me fit and it’s very good to sit on a bike through the winter. I am also riding in a speedway-on-ice series which includes six indoor ice meetings.
And what about the equipment. What was your reaction when you heard that we are coming back to old silencers?
- When I heard that old silencers are coming back I was very, very satisfied. Having had the new type for the last 3 years, it proved to be the cause of many victims of bad injuries in my opinion. Obviously bikes didn’t have the power and were difficult to set up and also to handle. They were also bad for engines. Now things look good with a free flow of exhaust gas. I'm looking forward to it!
Let's come back to last season. You took part in SEC in Gustrow. What are your memories connected with that day?
- Receiving the wild card for SEC in Gustrow last year was a major success, although winning the prestigious international meeting, the “Pfingstpokal” a couple of months before in Gustrow was very good too. Gustrow is my home track, where all my fans are, where my heart is so I'm happy to get chance to ride each time we have big meetings like that.
SEC in Gustrow was a good meeting for me although I know I could have done better. I struggled with a new engine and some ignition problems at that day I remember.
Would you like to take part in SEC as permanent participant?
- Of course I'd be over the moon to ride in the SEC permanently. It has become almost as prestigious as Grand Prix and I take my hat off to the young group of organizers for achieving that!
This season there are two important events organized by One Sport in your country - SEC and SBPC. What can be benefits for German speedway because of that?
- Having two big meetings in Germany can be a good boost for this sport in our country. It wakes up interest of new potential sponsors as soon as it's on TV and also many new fans who pay for their tickets and help to keep the sport alive and more vital.
Would you like to start in Speedway Best Pairs Cup in Gustrow this season?
- As I said, I love riding in Gustrow and I like riding in big meetings among world class riders so I'd be delighted to get chance to ride in the SBPC.
What are your plans for this season? In what leagues are you going to start?
- My plans for 2015 is riding in the Polish 2nd league, German league, some guest bookings in Denmark and of course the qualifications for Speedway European Championships plus as many individual meetings as possible.
In Poland you’ve signed a contract in Częstochowa. Why?
- As soon as it was clear that Włókniarz will start in 2nd division I wanted to go there. I have so many great memories from the time I was there and I think it will help me when I will be riding there this year. With the help of my friend Marian Maślanka, it was very quick and we could agree and sign a contract. I'm looking forward to a successful season in Częstochowa, It's a great place!
Thanks very much.
- Thanks and many greetings for fans in Poland.
