Vaclav Milik won the third round of Speedway Euro Championship 2017, which took place in Hallstavik. For Czech rider, it was his first win in SEC series ever. Currently, „Vacek” is 4 points down from Andzejs Lebedevs, who leads the classification.

For the European vice-champion 2016, meeting in Hallstavik was not the most pleasant one. Except a demanding track, it had been a long trip to get there for Milik. On Friday's evening, Czech took part in the PGE Ekstraliga match in Wrocław, which meant for „Vacek” over 1500 kilometers to get to Sweden.

- It really didn't look good. We had a match in Wrocław and a very long road to go, plus there was some info coming about the weather in Sweden. I'm tired, but I managed to race a great meeting – Milik said.

Czech rider presented a great disposition on the track in Hallstavik, however he also had one fail, which forced him to fight for the final in the race-off heat. In the final, Milik got a perfect start and led all the way until the finish line.

- I really like this track. We did a good job during this meeting. In the end, there was a lot of fight going on. I'm really satisfied with my result. Before the round in Hallstavik I was third and now I'm second with only a 4-point loss to Andzejs, who's been having a great season. In Lublin, I'll be fighting for the top spot.

Milik is only 4 points down from leading Lebedevs. Despite a serious fight for gold of the European Championship, both riders show that they're close friends also on the track.

- We're good buddies, both on and off the track. Everyone's racing individually, but we look at each other and don't want to cause any harm. Andzejs has a 4-point advantage, so I got to catch up in Lublin. I have silver, so now it's time for gold and that's what I'll be fighting for – Milik adds.

Final round of the Speedway Euro Championship 2017 will take place in Lublin. Both riders have some experience on this track, however for Milik, practice session will be a crucial aspect of preparations to fight for gold.

- I've been in Lublin couple of times, but actually don't remember it well. I will have to find some good setups after the practice session. You have to be well prepared, because all the SEC riders are just great. It will be a tough meeting, but I got to keep on fighting and race the best I can – European vice-champion ended.

First round’s curse is still here

Statistics are not telling all the truth, but in Speedway European Championship we've got a little routine. The man, who won first round, can't stay on the first place in GC until the end. This year, situation is the same.
