Mateusz Szczepaniak is one of 5 Poles starting in Speedway European Championship 2017. „Szczepan” has shown his skills during 1st final in Toruń, where he finished 8th with 9 points.
Szczepaniak got a really good result in SEC's opening round. His prowess and fast bikes almost got him to the extra heat. This week, the best European riders will fight for next SEC points in Guestrow, Germany. For „Szczepan” it’ll be his debut on this track.
- I’ve never rode there, but I’ve seen some races and I know that track is short, round and you have to ride like on a wheel – said Mateusz Szczepaniak.
On this specific and technical track, a lot of will depend on riders' form. Pole says that pre-competition training would be a key to win.
– I’m preparing as always, as hard as possible. I hope that before the final, a practice will take place. I’ll make some laps and I’ll try to find the best setups.
In SEC 2017, Szczepaniak is starting with number #58. Why did he choose that one?
- My dad was born in 1958. He’s been with me since I started racing. I wouldn't have started my career without him and even if I have had, I would probably not be racing today . When my career stopped and I couldn’t do anything, my dad helped me a lot. This is why i decided to start in SEC with number #58, to thank him – he finished.
