Jarosław Hampel will race in the first round of Speedway Euro Championship 2017 in Toruń. Rider of the Polish National Team accepted an invitation from the One Sport company, organizing the series and he'll perform with a "wild card".
For rider, born in Łódź, it will be a debut in elite series of European Championship, Start in the opening round of SEC 2017 will be Hampel's comeback to international-level racing after a long break, caused by thigh's injury. Hampel makes it clear that he's about to do anything to take this chance.
- Meeting on an international level always bring increased emotions and it's the same right now. I've had lots of chances to represent my country at many speedway venues, but this break I had was long enough to bring this extra feeling of reaching success in Toruń. I would like to take my chance during the first round of Individual European Championship - Jarosław Hampel said.
Double silver medalist of the world championship is currently in a great disposition, which puts him on the list of the main candidates to win the Friday's round. As he underlines, nothing is known before the meeting and the final result will be clear after 22 heats.
- I haven't thought about it whether I am one of the candidates to win this round. I can't look at it this way. I will do my best to bring some good racing and be in touch with the top to get a good result at the end of the day. This is my plan, this is my goal and that's what I would like to achieve in this first round of SEC.
First round of Speedway Euro Championship is at Motoarena. Hampel's last performance in Toruń can be easily counted as a good one. On June 18, 2017, Ekantor.pl Falubaz Zielona Góra defeated local Get Well Toruń 46:44 and it was Hampel, who won a super important heat no. 14 by defeating Michael Jepsen Jensen at the very last corner. Motoarena is the venue, where Jarosław Hampel received his two silver medals of the Individual World Championship. "Mały" has got only good words about this track and his great results there mix with way worse ones.
- I have only good memories from Motoarena, but at this track whether I race great or bring "zeros". Track at Motoarena has a lot of lines, letting riders fight at the whole distance. In Toruń, we've seen many really interesting and passionate meetings. I am sure that also this time, fans gathered at the stadium, will witness a spectacular show - Jarosław Hampel ended.
