Leon Madsen surprised the speedway world. In Speedway Euro Championship 2016, he was 5th, leaving such names as Emil Sayfutdinov, double European Champ, behind. Madsen's disposition in this year ha been telling us he's able to fight for something more than TOP5 of SEC 2017.
Even though, he may be missing individual successes, having his biggest one in team - silver medal of Team Speedway Junior World Championship, Madsen has been proving, year after year, that he's capable of becoming one of the best Danish riders. Regularly, he's been starting in world's top leagues and having some good performances. His main asset is regularity, thanks to which, he's a solid element of teams he's representing.
Got his promotion to SEC 2016 through the SEC Challenge, which took place in German Olching. Back then, Madsen got 12 points in 5 starts and got the qualification from 2nd place. In four rounds of last year's series, he got 37 points, being only 3 points away from gold. It was this regular racing, thanks to which, Dane made it in SEC 2016. By reaching 5th position overall, he secured a spot for this year's cycle.
In this season, fifth rider of last year's European Championship, can make it even better. From the very beginning of the season, Madsen's been presenting a high disposition, which made him the leader of his team Włókniarz Częstochowa. How will it all go for Dane in this year? First answer comes on June 30 at Motoarena - at the first round of Speedway Euro Championship 2017.
First round of Speedway Euro Championship comes on June 30, 2017 at 7 PM CET.
