Organizers of the Individual Speedway European Championship made a decision on the wild card's holder for the inaugural SEC round in Toruń. It was given to Jarosław Hampel. For Polish National Team's captain, it will be his first performance in the international meeting since his horrible injury from 2015.
Hampel has been steadily coming back to the disposition he had presented before this injury, which was caught during the semi-final of SWC in Gniezno. While being in a great form, he got a serious injury, which crossed his plans for the world championship and ruined months of preparations. After a one-year break, Hampel was back into racing and now, he's the core of his league teams.
Season 2017 has been going perfectly for Jarek. Despite little problems in the beginning of the year, "Mały" has been getting into shape week after week and in his recent meetings, he finally got this incredible disposition, which made organizers left with no doubts, to whom the wild card should be given.
Reserve riders in Torun will be: Paweł Przedpełski and Szymon Woźniak.
