Injury interfered the fight

It could be a really successful season for Hans Andersen in Speedway Euro Championship. After three rounds, he had 24 points and was losing only few points to the top. Unfortunately, fighting for something more was interfered by an injury.

Everything started from 2 bad starts in Guestrow. Dane started with 2 zeros, but later on, it was all fine. 3 starts, 7 points and a minima loss to the riders, who finished in front of him. One point more and he could have even got the promotion to the race-off.

In Daugavpils... "Ugly Duck" once again started with 2 zeros. When it seemed it would have been another bad Dane's performance, once again, the next three starts were great. 8 points, so one point more than in Germany, gave him 15 in total in the middle of the series. Then, Andersen, with all the other guys, moved East, to Russian Togliatti. Here, the beginning was not so bad, but four points in three starts, surely did not make Andersen feel happy.

As he got us used to, in 2016, second part of the series was really good one and for the first time, with 9 points, he advanced to the race-off heat. There, he came behind Leon Madsen's back and got the promotion to the final heat. It was not that tough, because earlier on, Vaclav Milik and Nicki Pedersen had been excluded. In the final heat, Andersen could not handle the fight with the others and ultimately ended as 4th. However, it doesn't change the fact that from one meeting to another, he was handling better and better.

Plus, he was getting more points that gave a strong hope before the final round in Rybnik. Unfortunately, few days before the SEC Final Round, he was forced to withdraw only 48 hours before the meeting. That gave him 24 points in total and 13th place, the worst one in his SEC history. Will he be able to reach for more at the 4th time?
