The best European speedway riders will meet on September 17 in Rybnik, to divide the medals and positions securing the spots for the next year's cycle. Their battle will be witnessed by thousands of fans, as well as the coaches keeping their fingers crossed.
In the line up of permanent riders of SEC 2016 there are three representatives of the Polish national team. Marek Cieślak, national team and Ekantor.pl Falubaz Zielona Góra coach thinks that each of Poles can reach a lot in Rybnik.
- Przemysław Pawlicki has got real chances to stand on the podium not only in Rybnik, but mainly in the whole cycle. He is only one point away from his rivals placing in the TOP3 - says Marek Cieślak. I think that Przemek is able to reach that, and the European Championship medal would be a huge success for him. Krzysztof Kasprzak is however losing some more points to the top (5 points to the leader), but he was catching up even bigger losses and also is in a position to reach the top. It is sure that in Rybnik, they will both be in the game.
There is also another coach keeping his fingers crossed for Pawlicki and Kasprzak and it is their club coach - Stanisław Chomski.
- It's a pity that in the inaugural round of SEC in Güstrow, there was no final heat, because both Krzysztof and Przemek were doing really well and they would have more points now - reminded coach of Stal Gorzów, PGE Ekstraliga's finalist. - In Daugavpils, it went a bit worse for Kasprzak, but in the last round in Togliatti they were both missing few points to get to the final. I know they are really motivated before the round in Rybnik and I hope they can flip the SEC table upside down.
Third Pole in SEC is Janusz Kołodziej. Rider of Unia Tarnów however has got only illusory chances to stay in SEC for another year, but in Rybnik, he will be one of the favourites.
- On September 17, Janusz will have an important role to play - adds Marek Cieślak. - However he is at the further position, but to make his national team colleagues go up in the classification, he will have to take points from their most dangerous rivals. Janusz likes the track in Rybnik, so he can reach a good result there and help his colleagues by the way.
