Only one of the riders can reach the Individual European Championship 2016 title. However, there are way more candidates to raise this incredible cup. We will meet his name on Saturday's evening.
On 17th of September at 7PM local time in Rybnik, the final round of Speedway Euro Championship starts and it cannot look even more promising. Nothing is sure so far and it can remain like that up until the very last heat.
- After three rounds of SEC 2016 we will meet in Rybnik, during the great final and it will be crème de la crème of this season and all of the European Championship meetings, which we have been organizing for the fourth consecutive season - said Karol Lejman, President of One Sport. - Stake is truly amazing. Right now, there are 10 riders with real chances to get the European Champion title! It has never happened before.
Let's remind that in the last year, before the final round of European Championship, Emil Sayfutdinov needed to get points in only two heats to reach for the title. It is way different now.
- In the final or maybe even in the additional heat, not only the title of the European Champion will be settled, but also medal positions and the TOP5 guaranteeing spots for the next year - added Karol Lejman.
Rivalry in 2016 is extraordinary. Looking at the last years of SEC it has never happened that after three rounds, every rider got less than 30 points.
Flattened classification gets these huge emotions to the very next level. Small point differences still give a chance for success to such top stars like mentioned Emil Sayfutdinov or Nicki Pedersen, who are both only 6 points away from the leader - Antonio Lindbaeck. Russian and Dane are currently at the 10th and 9th position.
What is more, also six points to the medal positions (currently held by Grigorij Laguta and Vaclav Milik) are missing in Andzejs Lebedev's case (11th). Theoretically, Latvian can still count on reaching the TOP5 as well as fighting for the medals.
