Third round of Speedway Euro Championship ended with another Grigorij Laguta's win. After a very exciting final, Russian defeated Antonio Lindbaeck and Leon Madsen. Hans Andersen took the 4th position.
Meeting started with a typical ride in a line. First series didn't bring many emotions. Later on, though, fans had to right to complain on a sport level of this meeting. After two heats, Krzysztof Kasprzak couldn't be satisfied with his 2 zeros. At the opposite level, there was Grigorij Laguta, Antonio Lindbaeck and Przemysław Pawlicki, who reached 5 points each.
Leon Madsen also presented some great speed and after four series had 3 threes. There was some bizzarre situation in heat no.9. Hans Andersen got excluded even before the start. Reason of that was... wrong colour of the helmet. Dane, instead of yellow took yellow and black what was misaligned with the rules. There was also some great fight between Grigorij Laguta and Nicki Pedersen in heat no.5. Russian got "Power" tackled hard and right after the heat, Pedersen went to Laguta to explain the situation. After a short conversation, both guys came back to their pits.
Fourteenth heat ended bad for Emil Sayfutdinov. Russian, after Nicki Pedersen's attack fell on the track, but the referee pointed his guilt of stopping the heat. As it turned out later, it was Sayfutdinov's last heat of the meeting. He came too late to the 17th heat and got excluded for exceeding 2 minutes.
Race-off heat had some unusual course. It was able to proceed it at the third time. In the first try, Nicki Pedersen fell and Vaclav Milik was guilty of that, according to the referee. Czech got excluded. In the repeat, Nicki Pedersen touched the tape. It was clear that Leon Madsen and Hans Andersen will go through to the final.
Last heat was a 2-pair rivalry. From the very beginning it was Grigorij Laguta and Antonio Lindbaeck fighting for the win. Leon Madsen and Hans Andersen were struggling to reach the third position. Ultimately, it was Russian, who got his second triumph in a row. What's interesting, Grisha, who did not start in the first round in Guestrow is currently 2nd in the overall classification, losing only 2 points to the leader - Antonio Lindbaeck. Third place was secured by Vaclav Milik.
The last round comes on 17th September in Rybnik. It will be there, where we will know the medalists of the European Championship and those who will secure their spots for the next year.
