We're only hours away from beginning the fight in the second round of Speedway Euro Championshup 2016. On Saturday, in Latvian Daugavpils, the best European riders will clash for another time. Meeting starts at 7 PM local time.
Among the line up, there are few, who know every stone of the track in Daugavpils, including young and talented Andzejs Lebedevs, who's been representing local club for 6 years.
At the inaugural round in Güstrow, Latvian did not only win his first heat in SEC history, but also proved his ability to challenge the best European riders. He's been surely counting on another triumphs, which in theory can come a bit easier in his home town.
- It's great to race in front of my home crowd at the track, which I am familiar with. Line up is very strong, but even though I count on a good performance that will bring a lot of joy to the fans - said Andrzejs Lebedevs.
Second of these riders, who know this track very well is Grigorij Laguta.
- I lived here for 3 years - tells Grisha, while smiling and looking at the club building.
Older Laguta brothers is a top quality brand in the speedway world, type of a bravely riding fighter. Unfortunately, because of his hands injury, Grigorij was missing in Güstrow, that complicates his fight to become the European champion. Russian is full of optimism, though.
- I am ready to fight - adds Grigorij Laguta. - Every of these three tracks, where upcoming SEC rounds will be held (Daugavpils, Togliatti and Rybnik) I know very well. I will do my best to get the best results possible. In Daugavpils, none of the lines is a mystery for me, so I am about to fight for the ultimate win.
List of the riders, who are familiar with second SEC venue is even longer. Wild card has been given to Maksims Bogdanovs, and also Joonas Kylmaekorpi is joining the stake. Both represent Lokomotiv Daugavpils and they are counting on a good performance too.
Considering the fact, that the line up includes a whole bunch of European speedway stars like defending champ Emil Sayfutdinov, always strong Nicki Pedersen and Antonio Lindbaeck or being at the top: Martin Vaculik and Krzysztof Kasprzak, we can expect some great racing on Saturday.
- We have been here often in Daugavpils and every time meetings were interesting. We are sure that this time as well, it will be the same - said Karol Lejman and Jan Konikiewicz representing the organizer - One Sport.
